Stunning desert hike through a canyon with a lush desert spring, one of the most beautiful desert scenes in Israel. Popular with families and groups on weekends, better to when it's not crowded during a weekday if you can to enjoy the quiet. If you want a longer hike you can combine it with nearby Avdat (ancient Nabatean ruins).

Great with kids, only takes 1.5-2 hours for the in-and-out route, or if you have two cars you can do the more challenging trail up the cliff face ending in the second parking lot (probably 3 hours, though we didn't do this route).

Nice hike to do with older children and adult tour groups. Will take at least one-two hours each direction. Can be very steep and rocky but the views are incredible at the top. Can generally stop half-way and eat with a Bedouin woman and her family. Generally can swim in the Avdad oasis pool.
