Hai-Bar Carmel Nature Reserve

Small nature preserve focusing on endangered animals native to the region. Short video available at the beginning in a small display room with explanations about the animals - including an interesting story about the two rare deer brought from Iran right at the time of the fall of the Shah and the revolution.

Not overly impressive but cute with kids for a 1-2 hours, a beautiful view over the Carmel mountains, and close to other nice destinations in the area like Little Switzerland and the Hecht museum inside Haifa university, all of which can be combined in a single visit if you want to make a day of it.
